Josh loves taking us with him and turning afternoon hunting trips into a family outing--usually the kids make enough noise that the chances of getting anything are low, but we have fun together anyway. We never take it too serious with the kids. Here is one time, though, that Carly was successful when she went with her dad:
Last November, Josh took one of his hunting buddies to a new spot he'd found and they got these two whitetail bucks when they were hunting together:
I even got a deer this past fall--My husband had been rooting for this moment for a while:
Josh has also had good luck catching mountain lions with all the fresh snow recently. While his co-workers take their clients and friends out golfing and for drinks, he treats his to cat chases through steep mountains in sub-zero weather. Based on the stories I've heard, these chases are pretty extreme. Here are some of the bigger ones he helped people take this past month.
Below are some more pictures I found on the camera, which were taken of Josh's other treed cats within the last year or so (I guess most of these were just let go). Josh does not always tell me the stories behind his pictures, and I don't know how often he takes the camera with him. But I do know that he catches a lot of critters with those noisy dogs.
If you haven't caught onto this yet . . . my husband is a red neck!
[I think this cute cat belongs on a calendar]

Anita!!! I loved this. Awesome pictures! Great job at getting that deer. And great job to sweet Carly! Your husband got some really good photos of the mountain lions in the trees. Does he actually get that close to them? I thought they were hard to hunt, looks like he is pretty good though. How awesome. I really enjoyed this post.
Anita- Great to catch up a little with your family. Thanks for posting, it has been forever since I've seen you and your kids so it's nice to see some recent pictures. Awesome hunting pictures! Tammy
