"Yes!!!!"

Five years ago today, Josh took me to eat at "The Roof" on the top floor of The Joseph Smith Building in Salt Lake City. The moment we got there, Josh hung up both of our coats, proceeded to check in at the front desk and confirm our reservation. Much to his surprise, they told him that his reservation was not recorded and suggested we try the restaurant across the hall. But Josh insisted that they give us a table (the whole time being very patient and not letting on there was any problem at all). After Josh bribed them with cash and whispered something that sounded like a threat, they finally gave us a table located in the corner near to the front desk. We were then seated (after they got the table out of storage, dusted off, set and ready to go) and we began the feast. It was a wonderful dinner, spectacular view and the perfect date. Towards the end of the meal Josh held my hand and proposed. Despite any tall tale he may tell, I did say "Yes!!!" The picture above of Carly holding my ring is proof!
Josh: The above story is close. Except, she did not say yes that night. She just grinned and said, "I don't know. I don't know. I don't know . We'll see what my dad says. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know . . ." After getting the same reaction over and over, I finally just gave up asking and dove into my cheesecake. I remember wondering whether the smile was her way of saying yes, or whether she was just flattered and trying to send me the biggest rejection of my life. It wasn't until we stopped by my parents' house later, and she announced to them that we were engaged, that I realized she had accepted.
