Camera Adventures

We decided to try something new for a family picture this year. Needless to say it turned into a mess. A friend offered to take the picture with her family camera in her parents' back yard, and it all seemed like a good idea at first, but the grass turned out to be wet, the kids were freezing cold, and the noses just never stopped running. We definately didn't get a wall hanger, but since it was such an adventure we thought we'd post a few pictures to relate the experience.

At first Carly really tried to help.

But it wasn't long before Caleb had converted Carly, and most of the pictures ended up turning out like this. I'm not even going to show the photos of all four of us--they look like one giant wrestling match.

Here, it looks like we are consoling the kids, but we were really bribing them with promises and threats.

In the end, when we had already thrown in the towel and started walking away, we got a half decent snap shot in. Oh well, I guess the living room wall will have to wait.

LOL! Sorry, I shouldn't laugh, because that just isn't fun when kids don't cooperate, but man, that is a priceless picture of them crying :) I'll cross my fingers for you next time!

Oh Anita, I totally hear ya. I don't know anything more stressful then family pictures. The kids hate smiling on cue, the mom is bribing like mad, and the dad is just like, "let's be done already." Yes, they are not fun. Good luck the next time! At least you have a beautiful family!

Come on Anita, you know that second picture is definitely a wall hanger. Heck why not even the first one? I'm loving it! I would understand if I came over. :)

I love the progression of the whole photo shoot! I couldn't help but smile as I imagined each step of it, from the cold, to the grass being wet, to the noses, and then to the tears. Too funny. Too cute! I'm glad that the last picture did work out.

That is fun to look at. As stressful as the pictures were, we all enjoyed these ones! I think we all have been there a time or two! Where you just WISH they'll cooperate for just ONE good picture! They'll laugh at these when they are older!

That's how most of our family shots have gone. They always end up in tears. It's so hard! We have tried 2 or 3 times to get a wall hanger family picture and it hasn't happened yet. Good luck next time!

I know how it goes trying to get kids to cooperate for pictures!!! Kambria and my nephew aren't the easiest! My cousin Misty (our amazing photographer) is just awesome! So when the pics come out you can't always tell how much of a struggle it was and how annoyed I get! At least you got a cute one of Carly and a cute family pic!

f-u-n-n-y! Holy cow, those pictures should go on the wall just because they are so cute (in a sad sort of way) but they are so funny!

LOL! This post just made our day! We are laughing our guts out! I agree with Cherisse, hang the photos anyway! They will bring JOY to all who enter! Priceless.
